Casting rumors have been flailing since Deadline broke the news that Universal Pictures and Focus Features scored the film rights to the bestselling novel by 48-year-old TV executive-turned-author E L James (real name Erika Leonard). I encourage you to read this great interview with Brit agent Valerie Hoskins on how she brokered the hottest book-to-film deal of 2012.
Best known for its erotica-drenched scenes, Fifty Shades of Grey (part of a trilogy) centers on virginal college graduate Ana Steele, who develops a sadomasochistic relationship with a handsome yet tormented billionaire named Christian Grey.
Will mine come with special effects and open itself up to me just like that?
